15ft. Industrial Conference Table
In this video I make the biggest piece I ever have. A 15ft.Industrial Conference Table!
As continue building custom work for clients I find myself making more and absurd things. This is most likely because when a client gives me creative freedom I tend to take it overboard …. just a bit. So when a trendy new local brand hit me up to outfit their office, I jumped on it. After a few conversations, the idea for this 15ft. Industrial Conference Table was born.
This pieces features a plasma cut CNC metal skyline that spans underneath three custom metal pedestals. The top is made from veneered walnut with metal inlaid dividers. One of the issues with this build was the delivery. The building had some tiny elevators which I typically don’t have to deal with. Because of this we had to make the whole thing in parts and then assemble it on site. So, to do this we glued up the top in 3 sections. The two ends, and a center divider.
Another issue that came up was the metal banding. This was a new technique for me and I knew it could cause some issues. So, I decided on this for the design, I knew I couldn’t use hard wood because of the wood movement. Hence the veneering. Only problem was, when I built the table for this video I capped the ends of the metal so the trim matched, and well, it popped right off the table anyway. So, I had to repair it after delivery. That wasn’t fun.

But all in all, this table was a blast to build. I got to use tons of techniques I typically don’t get to use. I also got a lot of practice with my metal working tools.
This build would be quite ambitions for basically anyone who is crazy enough to try it, if you wanna see how I did it. Check out the video here!
