2 in 1 Woodworking Crosscut Sled
Multi-purpose Crosscut Sled from Scrap Wood!
I have some large commission pieces coming up, and I thought it would be a good time to get a smaller crosscut sled dedicated to my existing table saw put together. For this one I added a miter cutting feature to the crosscut sled. Its super simple and easy, I legit got it done in 20 minutes! Because this build was so simple, i have included a FREE plan to download and tackle this one yourself!
You can basically build this sled with a handful of screws and some scraps. I used MDF because it is what i had on hand, and for the rails I used some scrap white oak. The rail is purpleheart, which was a scrap i had in the bin. I chose purple heart for its density, you can pick your own rail but i do recommend a dense hard wood.
This build is absurdly easy. Takes almost no time, and with some scraps can be done super cheap. Check out the full plan for how to make your own and enjoy!

This sled has the ability to cut both regular crosscuts, and miters as you can see in the photos above. Nice versatility that typically requires a second jig all together. Check it out, and enjoy!
This project was inspired by a sled i saw in Matt Kenney – 52 Boxes in 52 Weeks. Which is a fantastic skill builder and design book for any level of woodworker. Check it out.
